Farzana Hossain
Senior Economist
Farzana Hossain is an applied microeconomist with over a decade of experience in academia, economic research, and policy advisory. She holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Melbourne.
Before joining the Superpower Institute as a Senior Economist, Farzana worked as a Research Fellow at the Centre for Health Economics at Monash University. She has also worked as a consultant at the World Bank Group and as an academic at the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh.
Farzana’s research mainly focuses on the economic impacts of climate change and environmental shocks in developing countries, providing insights to inform targeted adaptation and mitigation policies. She is skilled in advanced data analysis, econometric methods, and economic modelling. A strong communicator and collaborative team player, she is committed to delivering evidence-based insights that drive meaningful policy decisions.
